Part of the reason our customers love shopping in our stores is because of the friendly, efficient service from our sales associates. They create a welcoming experience by helping customers with any questions they may have, and they are the experts who know our product best to be able to provide helpful guidance. Their passion and dedication are obvious to anyone who walks in, and their love of fashion comes out when they help with outfit choices, as well as when they assist with visual merchandising and creative displays. Our sales associates are the first faces customers see, and their positive attitudes keep people coming back for more.

Q. What's your favorite part of working at Ardene?

A. Every day is different. Some days I'm at the cash register, either unpacking merchandise or helping customers. I love helping customers find outfits, whether it's for everyday life, sports, or a special occasion. I love knowing that customers will think of me and Ardene when they wear their outfits.

Q. How has your role evolved since starting at Ardene?

A.
Before working at Ardene, I didn't have a lot of fashion knowledge, so I was less efficient at responding to clients, but with the help of my co-workers, I was able to develop my fashion sense.

Q. What accomplishment are you most proud of?

A.
I was really proud when I completed my first display wall and I heard all the positive comments the customers had to say. It was a challenge to learn how to analyze grids (place items) to make room for everything, so I was very proud of this success.

Q. What is your favorite Ardene memory?

A. A customer once told me that she had been going through a difficult time, but because of my service at the cash register, I made her day. I was very moved by this.

Q. Do you have a mentor or someone you look up to at work?

A. I really admire my colleague Julie because she taught me a lot about how the store works. She has also helped me to be more comfortable with myself as a person and with the customers.

Q. What's a typical day at work for you?

A. When I arrive at the store, I always start by greeting my awesome colleagues. Then, we always have a "one minute" meeting, and the manager explains to us the objective of the day, the new promotions and tells people their positions. Afterwards, we have a question of the day that we pick to get to know each other better. During the day, we do about two position changes, which allows us to do two or three roles in the same day to allow us to try several things.

Q. How has your role evolved since starting at Ardene?

A. I went from a girl who had never worked in a clothing store to a girl who can now train other employees on the floor. I think I have gained a lot of knowledge, even in my personal life.

Q. What's your favorite part of working at Ardene?

A. What I like the most are my amazing colleagues. However, I also love the fact that we are so close with the customers and that I can let my creativity flow through what I wear.

Q. What accomplishment are you most proud of?

A. The biggest thing Ardene has given me is the realization of how much I love fashion. It was through my job that I realized I wanted to work in fashion for the rest of my life, and I even got accepted in university in Fashion Management and Design.

Q. What challenges have you overcome in your career, and what did you learn from them?

A. The biggest challenge I had to overcome was having to train new employees, since I had never trained before. As long as I stay true to myself and show the new employees exactly the same way I work, everything is fine.

Q. What advice would you give to someone starting a career in your field?

A. Be yourself and above all, let your creativity flow.

Q. What is your favorite Ardene memory?

A. My favorite memory at Ardene was last Halloween, when all the employees dressed up as fairies. We even took a picture; it was a beautiful day. I was the one who came up with the idea for the fairy costume.

Q. Do you have a mentor or someone you look up to at work?

A. The person I admire most at work, other than my extraordinary manager, is my colleague Jessica. She is the one who trained me when I first joined the team. I admire her because she has been with Ardene for a long time, and she always works hard and gets along with everyone. She is truly a role model for the team.
