Q. What's a typical day at work for you?
A. I start off my day with saying good morning to all my coworkers! Our typical day at work is scanning for weekly and newly opening US stores. Part of the team scans and places labels on each side of the finished boxes. The other part separates the pallets in order for each work table. I organize everything: I answer phone calls and emails, I make graphs and I keep each store organized. I also do monthly reports on what has been shipped to which store, and I keep all the items we can't scan organized by store and season. I teach new co-workers and coach my team on what to scan and what not to scan. I try my best to keep a good ambiance; I even bought a speaker so my coworkers can listen to any song their hearts' desire. I aim to keep it stress-free.
Q. How has your role evolved since starting at Ardene?
A. I started working in an Ardene store as a sales associate and gradually moved up to third key. I came to work at the Ardene's warehouse during Covid and really enjoyed the people and the ambience. Since then, I permanently transferred to work with the DC team.
Q. What's your favorite part of working at Ardene?
A. My favorite part of working at Ardene is my team - being with them no matter what happens. We stick together! I see my team more than my family or friends, and I really enjoy the way we work. We put on some music, do our jobs and enjoy each other's company. We can laugh and have a good time while working.
Q. What accomplishment are you most proud of?
A. I am proud of never giving up on people who want to learn and achieve something in life, no matter what. I give them time and patience, I am proud of our work together. At the end of the day it's not what I'm proud of; it's what we as a team are proud of.
Q. What challenges have you overcome in your career, and what did you learn from them?
A. I have mild dyslexia, so I've overcome a lot of challenges, but I believed in myself and gave myself tricks to never give up. I learned the cash, and how to sell, and above all, how to be confident. Never let shyness overcome you. I gained a lot of respect, and I learned how to manage a team; both in serious times and when it's time to laugh.
Q. What advice would give to someone starting a career in your field?
A. Believe in yourself! Keep your head high and of course never give up!
