fit

Customers are drawn to the styles they love, but it's the fit that makes the difference. This is where our team of expert fit technicians comes in. Their role is to analyze the silhouette and construction of a garment to assess how it will fit various body shapes, and at Ardene this means establishing fits for our women's, men's and Curve plus size collections. They consider the right pattern selection, fabrics, workmanship and detailing to ensure each item fits comfortably on every body. Working with fit models, they make the necessary adjustments to deliver a final product that feels as good as it looks.

Q. What's a typical day at work for you?

A. I check all kinds of samples and measure and fit them on live models or mannequins. I then make the appropriate comments and release the specs and grading. The final result is what customers get to buy and wear!

Q. What challenges have you overcome in your career, and what did you learn from them?

A. The biggest challenge in my career has been communicating across languages. Although I have still not completely overcome it, I have been lucky to meet my manager who understands and supports me, and I really appreciate it.

Q. What advice would give to someone starting a career in your field?

A. To be patient and persistent, thoughtful and methodical. Fit is a technical job; the more experience you have, the better you feel.

Q. What is your favorite Ardene memory?

A. I love the Halloween culture day every year and the birthday celebrations every month. I also love eating lunch in the cafeteria every day with all my coworkers.
