Celebrating Black History Month
In honor of Black History Month, throughout February we'll be collaborating with Black content creators and small-business owners to continue to educate our community by amplifying their voices. We'll also be supporting Canadian Black-owned small businesses by hosting two exclusive pop-up shops - one for the public and one for our employees. We believe that celebrating our heritage and sharing our journeys strengthens our understanding of each other and helps create a sense of community, and through these collaborations, we're hoping to share messages of love and inspiration that will resonate with all our customers.
Pop-up Shops
To show support for local Black businesses, we're working with Black business owners to launch an exclusive in-store pop-up event at one of our downtown stores. We'll be showcasing the artistic work and handmade products of 7 different shops, and our pop-up will feature a curated section of their products open to the public. Customers can purchase hand-poured soy wax candles, silk hair accessories, handmade organic soap and so much more, handcrafted by local Black businesses. Additionally, we'll also be having our first-ever pop-up at head office where our employees can shop products from Black-owned small businesses as well. We're excited to launch these initiatives, and we invite everyone to come check out our Place Montreal Trust store on Saturday, February 25th for this exclusive pop-up event.
Sharing Inspiration on our Social Channels
We're also dedicating @ardene's Instagram this month to content from Black creators; sharing their messages, motivations and passions. Showcasing a series of Black small business owners and artists, we'll be interviewing them about their specialties, what motivated them and how they got started. We'll also be featuring hair tutorials for braided and textured hair, a spotlight with a mental health therapist and a giveaway for a customer to win a stay at a Black-owned hotel. By sharing this content with our social audience, we want to celebrate our diversity and hope to shed light on what unites us as a community. Follow us on Instagram all month long to be inspired by their voices. #ardenelove
