Our Resolution: Infinite Love Club

Happy 2020! Welcome to a brand new decade, a leap year and the year of the rat (a prosperous sign that should bring wealth to us all). It’s also time for New Year’s resolutions! This year, we’re all about loving more. Sure, we all want to be healthy, successful, take vacation more and find happiness, but at the heart of all that is love: love for oneself and one another.

Here’s what we’re doing more of this year:

Showing appreciation

In 2020, we’re expressing what our loved ones mean to us, as well as complimenting ourselves occasionally too. We’re also trying to be more aware of the people around us and not save all the love just for friends, so if we see someone wearing a great pair of shoes or who has an adorable dog, we’re pledging to let them know! A compliment from a stranger goes a long way in lifting someone’s mood!

Helping

Ever see someone seemingly lost on a street corner? Can’t figure out how to use that new software? We tend to see asking for help as a sign of vulnerability, but we want to give it a new perspective. We want to take that extra step and offer someone assistance if they appear to need it or ask for guidance when we normally struggle through something by ourselves. Helping one another creates a sense of community and provides a comforting reminder that we are not alone.

Treating ourselves

Retail therapy can work wonders, but that’s not what we’re referring to. Putting ourselves first can simply mean much overdue ‘me’ time. It can be a spa day away or a hot bubble bath at home; it can be going to our favorite restaurants or ordering guilt-free pizza, and it can be buying ourselves a much-coveted item or saving up to get it later. In a fast-paced world, we easily forget that a simple pick-me-up can go a long way and putting ourselves first should be our main priority.

Smiling

You know that laughing’s contagious…well it starts with a smile! Whatever 2020 brings, we want to smile more and spread the joy to everyone around us, because there’s a lot of power in a simple gesture.

Getting Organized

Stress is certainly one of the main reasons we disappear into our bubbles: balancing family with work and a social life with ‘me’ time is exhausting after all. Through workplace initiatives and a little extra personal effort, we want to remind ourselves to not only try breathing exercises or meditation, but to simply get planning. Organizing ourselves by writing down our chores, activities and workload can greatly reduce our stress by breaking down our responsibilities into manageable tasks. With a great planner (psst! We have a great one available now!) to start off the year and a few minutes to fill in our calendars, we can manage our stress levels easier and have plenty of time to get everything done.

Your Year. Your Resolutions.

Whether your 2020 is filled with concrete steps to better yourself, or you simply want to do good this year, a little extra love in the world is a great resolution to start off with, and we intend to do our part.
