Staying Mindful Before the Holidays

Ardene has always cared about the well-being of our employees, so we first introduced mindfulness as a practice in our stores in 2018. Mindfulness is the act of paying attention to our thoughts, feelings and senses in order to stay balanced and help manage stress. It’s about getting out of our heads and staying focused on the present instead. With the challenges this year has presented, it’s more necessary now than ever to stay mindful and bring our best selves forward, which is why Ardene is supporting our teams with mindfulness practices and challenges. Not only are they fun to do both alone or in groups, but they provide a quick and easy way to stay calm no matter what the day brings.

October Store Challenge

After we started mindfulness practices in stores, the feedback from our teams was so positive that last year we started our first October store Mindfulness Challenge. Each week, our teams were given different breathing, relaxation and stress management tips and techniques they could choose to try. The series of month-long challenges encourages our staff to take care of themselves and their teams before the rush of the holiday season begins.

November Head Office Challenge

For the first time, we have introduced the Monthly Mindfulness Challenge to the head office. With resources to help us ground our senses, the month-long challenge is off to a great start and helping our team members take much-needed moments of relaxation.

We recognize the importance of the mental well-being of our team members, and with these mini mindful moments, we hope that we can promote these calming practices on a regular basis. We can’t always control the stress in our lives, but by taking a moment to consciously focus on our surroundings and ground ourselves, we can certainly manage it easier.
