store manager

Ardene store managers are the leaders of our front-line teams! They work to oversee store operations, plan and execute strategies to drive sales, and inspire a team of store associates along the way. We turn to our store managers for guidance on product merchandising, customer service, team training and development.

Q. Describe a typical day at work.

A.
In the morning I'm in a good mood and I look forward to seeing my work team. I open the store, plan my day and share important information with the employees for the day during a one-minute meeting. Afterwards, I make sure that everyone is in place and ready to greet customers and be productive. I participate in all the tasks and do the online orders. During the day, I do regular follow-ups with the team to motivate sales and productivity, and I do regular rounds of each area to make sure customers are being served and to ensure the store is clean.

Q. Describe how your role has evolved since you joined Ardene.

A.
I started as a part-time sales associate and gradually worked my way up to the position of manager. I have gained a lot of confidence since day one and have developed strong customer service and communication skills. Ardene allows me to excel even more.

Q. What do you like most about working at Ardene?

A.
The relationship we have with our customers and employees. I love the values that the company has developed and many friendships are made at Ardene. I also like the teamwork because it allows us to help each other and achieve even better results.

Q. What is your proudest achievement?

A.
I'm proud of climbing the ladder at a young age in such a short period of time. I'm proud of having the confidence to go above and beyond for a job that was completely new to me, and I'm really proud of my results.

Q. What challenges have you overcome in your career and what have you learned?

A.
Coming back from COVID was a big challenge for me, even to this day. It taught me to take it one step at a time and to trust myself. Some things you can't control and it kept me on my toes to always find solutions. I've worked a lot on my resourcefulness and stress management in the last year.

Q. What advice would you give to someone starting out in your field?

A.
To focus on one thing at a time instead of trying to do everything at once. Every little accomplishment will lead you to your goal. Taking time to breathe and get organized is very important in my opinion.

Q. What is your favorite memory at Ardene?

A.
The holiday season. For me it's always great because the atmosphere in the store is even better, and all the employees participate in a gift exchange. Our team's holiday dinners are also very nice memories because they allow us to get to know each other on a personal level.

Q. Do you have a mentor or someone you look up to at work? Who and why?

A
. I admire my district supervisor, Sophie, for the confidence she has in her employees and for her ability to listen. Despite the many stores she manages, she is always there to answer my questions and share her good mood with me.
