Ardene Inspires Healthy Living
The new year may remind us of all our personal goals and resolutions, but the idea of healthy living is nothing new. We try to eat better, sleep more, work out when we can and de-stress, but somehow daily life always gets in the way. Companies are starting to recognize the importance of our overall wellness and many offer gym memberships or discounts as employee perks. While our physical health is vital, Ardene also provides its head office employees with different types of healthy living.
One such initiative is ClassPass. It’s not a gym membership but a credit system that allows users to purchase and use credits for different types of classes at different gyms around the city. The no-hassle, no-stress concept of this program is exactly why Ardene has started to subsidize corporate wellness memberships for its employees, because no resolution should inconvenience your life.
Healthy Eating
Working in an office often means fast food lunches out, department snacks and the inevitable mid-day munchies; all counterproductive to your best gym efforts. The food you eat is as important as the moves you make, so we are lucky to have a subsidized cafeteria with fresh, healthy meals daily. The summer months are even better when we can supply fresh veggies and herbs directly from our backyard, community garden!
Complete Wellness
We recognize though that healthy living goes far beyond a number on a scale or the number of calories you consume. It encompasses relaxation, meditation, stress relief and mental health; all areas nurtured by Ardene. We’ve invested in yoga classes and chair massages at the head office, and wellness programs in stores, and we’re building a meditation room on-site. Some of our teams even participate in 15-minute mid-day workouts right here at the office!
Ardene’s investment in its employees’ mental and physical well-beings is essential, because you can’t expect the best of people if you don’t give it to them in return. To have a successful business, you need to look at the big picture and cater to every aspect of a person’s well-being, because caring about our staff is what strengthens us as a team. Here’s to a healthy and happy year!
