Foundations Unite to Inspire Sick Kids with Designer Hospital Gowns
It’s Giving Tuesday, so after the rush of Black Friday and before the hectic holiday, let’s take time to help those less fortunate. The Ardene Foundation and Starlight Children’s Foundation have teamed up this year to do exactly that and expand the internationally acclaimed WARD + ROBES program to over 100 hospitals across Canada, bringing comfort and fashion to sick kids around the country.
The WARD + ROBES program is an initiative that Starlight Canada started in 2016 to provide sick children with unique, colorful and expressive hospital gowns, helping them feel more empowered while in the hospital.
The program started as a partnership with Rethink Canada and was only offered to the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario, but thanks to Ardene Foundation’s contribution this year, all 10 provinces will benefit from the initiative, just in time for the holidays.
Toronto fashion house, Notion Mfg. has designed all the gowns in the program, offering more than 20 ever-changing prints. They provide 100% Canadian-made options that are far more comfortable than standard hospital gowns and have convenient features like monitor pockets, IV access and full back coverage. Most importantly, they bring smiles to hospitalized children by helping them find a sense of identity.

Additionally, throughout the month of December, fundraising will continue in Ardene’s 350+ stores across Canada; allowing customers to donate $1 at the cash which will go directly to Starlight Canada’s WARD + ROBES program.
The Ardene Foundation has been partnering with Starlight Canada for over five years and has so far contributed over a million dollars to their various causes in and out of hospital, including a room at the Montreal Children’s Hospital, fundraising galas, Fun Centers, Ski-A-Thons and more. Our goal this year is to raise $300,000 over the holiday season to help create moments of joy for children in our communities
Through our partnership and your donations, we look forward to helping create many more smiles together.
